Raised in Vernon, and observing his father’s successful career in Real Estate, Murray was motivated to follow his dad’s footsteps. An athletic youth opened doors that took him to other places first. A top-ranked junior tennis player in Western Canada by the time he graduated from Vernon’s VSS, Murray accepted an athletic scholarship to the US, won a Mid-American Conference title, and earned a Business Degree from Miami University (Ohio) in 1986. Pursuing professional tennis led him to Hong Kong where he resided for 16 years. A former player and coach of Hong Kong’s Davis Cup Team, Murray’s successes included a #1 ranking in Hong Kong (Men’s Doubles), a Hong Kong National Championship, CRC Open and South China Open titles. He’s coached players at the US Open and Wimbledon and was Head Professional at the prestigious American Club, Hong Kong. Recently returned to his hometown roots, Murray and his wife believe that Vernon is the best place in the world to raise their two young children.
